As 2012 comes to a close, I am reminded of some great triumphs, first-evers, and heartache. I look forward to what is to come in 2013, but want to close out the year with some highlights.
And, since I’m a picture girl:: Most of this will be detailed in a photo story.
BEST TRI of the Year:
First Duathlon and BEST OVERALL FINISH:
MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCE:
BEST Running Race:
FIRST OLY TRI EVER:
I also had some great riding experiences this year! One of which, was getting my momma on a bike! I rode through the tulip fields, had an EPIC climb up 542 (Mt. Baker), did part of the Tour de Whatcom, and several other awesome rides with friends … one of which, included a beer stop in the middle! Special shout out to Judy, John, Meghan, Roxie, and Lora.
I had some pretty great vacations to boot! First one was to Kona with my two girlfriends, Jana and Carlotta. We visited our friend Donna and helped her to celebrate her 50th birthday. I also went to California with my daughter’s cheer team and got to spend one day in my favorite spot:: DISNEYLAND! In August, my friend Rebekah and her boy came to town and we ventured up to Whistler for a mini vacay.
My 2012 heartache came at the end of August, when I lost my grandpa. He was such a special man. Here is my last photo with him.
I met some incredibly awesome new friends through social media! Who would have thought?! So thankful to have these new friends and I look forward to meeting new ones in 2013! Special shout-out to Marlon, Rebecca, and Michael! So fun to meet you in person!
Okay, as I’m rushed to wrap this puppy up — mainly because we leave in
1/2 hour 5 minutes for a NYE Party and I have yet to get ready, I know I will have to edit and add more later! I want to include my running friends and my bestie JEN, who is moving away. BOO! But, thankfully, she is not moving too far, just a couple of hours down the interstate.
So, for now ::
I toast to all that was in 2012 and look forward to new adventures in 2013! Cheers Friends!
